Texas Delegation requests more COVID-19 relief for rural communities

LUBBOCK, Texas -

While Congress is planning to shovel more money toward economic relief, Congressman Jodey Arrington says states need to make sure they're properly spending what they've already received.

In a letter to Governor Abbott, the Texas Delegation asked for small and mid-sized communities to be treated with the same priority as larger cities. He says they've received almost nothing, despite suffering just as much - if not more - per capita as the metroplex and Houston.

The Congressman says there's still about $14 billion left in the congressional funding specifically earmarked for farmers and ranchers.

He says that will continue to provide lifelines for family farms and capital for large agri-businesses through the crisis.
