Cold front pushes through our area early this morning and left us with a breezy northeast wind. This wind stay breezy through the morning, then calming to 10-15mph this afternoon. A cooler day with the high near 77, that is below average and around 20 degrees cooler than yesterday.
TONIGHT: A chilly night with the low near 49 with a clear sky. Wind speeds stay light and changing southerly.
WEDNESDAY: Sunny with highs increasing a few degrees near the average, 82 in Lubbock.
EXTENDED: A rapid climb in temperatures ahead of another strong front heading into the weekend. Wind speeds kicking up again with the strongest wind early Friday with possible speeds in the 25-35mph range. Temperatures drop well below average into next week with 70s common and lows in the 40s.
Looking into rain chances... There might be some isolated showers and storms with little to no precipitation Thursday afternoon to our eastern counties. Only a few locations may receive some rain, if these develop at all. A little better chance for maybe some wide spread rain to start next week. Still a ways away but looking more promising than what we have had over the last few weeks.
Have a great Cinco De Mayo! Matt with the next updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
