A roller coaster ride of temperatures this week

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

We had 2 new record highs on Friday and Saturday in Lubbock with triple digits. We "cooled" Sunday dropping to 96...

TODAY: We climb in temperatures again with triple heat likely in our area and lots of sunshine. Wind speeds look to become breezy 12-22mph from the west.

TONIGHT: A cold front moves through the area around midnight bringing a stronger northeast wind 15-25mph with gusts 30-35mph. Temperatures start cooler in the morning with lows in the 50s.

TUESDAY: A better day if you need to get some gardening done or want to get outside with highs in the upper 70s. Wind speeds stay breezy before noon, then drops through the rest of the day.

REST OF WEEK: A quick warm up ahead another cold front that moves through late Thursday. Highs climb back to the 90s Thursday, then drop again to the 70s as we get into the weekend. Wind speeds look to be strong with this front as well with dry conditions continuing. There may be some isolated storms with this front to our eastern counties were better moisture will be.

May the 4th be with you (for all the Star Wars fans). Matt with the next updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
