Just 2 weeks ago we had freezing temperatures with snow across parts of our area. Heat is the forecast this week! The average highs for the next few days is 79, today's high nearing 90. There may end up being isolated storms developing to our south, then pushing northeast into our far southeastern counties this evening. If these storms fire up they have the potential to become severe strength with hail and high wind.
TONIGHT: Becoming mostly clear with the mild morning temperatures continuing, low near 61.
TUESDAY: We continue to climb in highs ahead of a cold front, high near 95. Again another chance for an isolated storm or two developing in our eastern counties.
TRIPLE DIGIT HEAT: Because of the front moving through the area later Tuesday, highs will be near average Wednesday. Then comes the heat with a ridge of high pressure moving in from the west. Likely close to or at 100° and possible new record highs Friday and Saturday.
Stay cool and hydrated if you have to be outside. Matt with the next updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
