Lubbock State Senator Charles Perry will help develop the state's approach to jobs, reopening the economy and food supply.
Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick selected him for those working groups.
The interim assignment will prep lawmakers for next session. Every senator's going to use a think tank model to collaborate on long-term solutions.
Patrick notes it's not to craft legislation, but to evaluate challenges and options.
The Lieutenant Governor says these panels are one way the state will ensure it leads on combating the virus and in making sure the economy can move forward.
