Car dealership provides service safely

Posted: Updated:

Car dealership showrooms may be closed, but other parts of the business are still operating.

The Scoggin-Dickey showrooms are closed, but as an essential business, the service, parts and collision repair departments are open. When customers drive up for service, the first thing Scoggin-Dickey employees do is wrap the steering wheel and disinfect the vehicle. Once the work is done, it is cleaned again.

"Many times the vehicle is leaving a lot cleaner than when they brought it in," Scoggin-Dickey President & Dealer Operator John Zwiacher said.

Trying to take care of the customers and the employees, some operations have been adjusted.

"Probably 25 to 30 perfect of our customers, we went out and had a transaction at their business or home, others would come in if they so desire and we would finish up the paperwork," Zwiacher said.

Manufacturers have been shut down for weeks now, so consequently there could be a parts shortage soon. Scoggin-Dickey hasn't had an issue yet.

"Most of the time we can find them at other places," Zwiacher said.

Although Scoggin-Dickey ships parts all around the world, it has held some to specifically take care of West Texas customers,

Zwiacher encourages you to support small businesses now and in the future.

"They're like us, we're a family owned business, we have a couple hundred employees here, we've kept all of our employees like many local businesses have, it's tough at many times to do that, so support us the best you can," Zwiacher said.
