LUBBOCK, Texas -

There were 15 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported among Lubbock County residents Monday, bringing the total to 445. Of this total of people who were tested and received a positive, 285 are active cases and 124 are recovered.

Four additional deaths related to COVID-19 were reported Monday, bringing the total to 36. Health officials last week said the trend continues that most deaths are associated with nursing homes.

Of the 445 total cases, 212 are associated with a nursing home, which includes residents and employees.

Mayor Dan Pope said Monday Lubbock is testing for COVID-19, per capita, at about twice the rate of the rest of Texas, with the hospitalization rate lower across the state as well.
