Windy and colder tonight

Posted: Updated:

THIS AFTERNOON: It's sunny, warm and breezy with 80s across most of the area. A cold front will move through late tonight, bringing another drop in the temperature.

TONIGHT: Becoming windy around Midnight, with clouds increasing behind the front. Once the front moves through we'll have the wind out of the N 15-25mph with higher gusts. Morning low near 35 in Lubbock. A freeze is likely north and northwest of the city.

TOMORROW: A cool day, windy in the morning. A little more sun by the afternoon, high near 59. Wind NE near 20mph early becoming SE near 10 late in the day.

WEEKEND: Warming back to the mid 70s Saturday. There might be a few isolated shower or storms, but it's looking less likely.

Sunday will be a little warmer, high in the upper 70s, which is typical for this time of year.

NEXT WEEK: Warmer with plenty of wind. It'll probably reach the mid to upper 80s Thursday. Overall the pattern doesn't look good for rain, though there are a few disturbances we'll watch for perhaps isolated storm development.

Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have a the next update posted here tomorrow morning.
