Sure enough, we had mid-April snow to start this morning. Around Lubbock it was just a dusting, not a measurable amount. If it was measurable it would've broken the latest snowfall record by two days. Nonetheless, it was a chilly start. Here are some snow totals provided by our friends at the National Weather Service Lubbock office:
Friona 3" to 5"
Plainview 0.9" to 1.5"
9 mi SE of Floydada 1"
TONIGHT: It'll be mostly clear and cold, another freeze for most locations on the Caprock. Low in Lubbock near 30, wind SW 5mph.
TOMORROW: Mostly sunny, high near 66. Breezy, wind out of the SW 12-22mph.
NEXT FEW DAYS: It'll be warmer and windy Thursday, followed by another front that'll drop it to the lower 60s Friday. It'll be pretty windy Thursday night into Friday, north wind ushering in the cooler air.
There might be a few showers or storms in the area Saturday, but it's not much of a chance. Next week will turn warmer.
Have a great rest of your evening. Bobby will have a full update to the forecast here early tomorrow.
