Lubbock Central Appraisal District outlines tax protest process

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

Lubbock's Central Appraisal District sent out notices of property appraisals Tuesday.

Owners who want to protest the value placed on their property will need to contact the appraisal district office.

Normally there is an informal walk-in review process for protest, but this year all those reviews will be done remotely.

Formal protest hearings will be held via telephone or through written affidavit.

Informal inquiries can be filed starting Wednesday on the city website, by phone or by email.

The deadline to file a protest with the district is May 15, or 30 days after owners receive a notice of appraisal.
