UPDATE: Police searching for suspects in road rage shooting

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

Lubbock police are seeking information on the suspects in a road rage shooting incident that seriously injured one person Monday afternoon.

Police say the victim, Margreta Zamarripa, 66, left the MCM Elegante Hotel, where she was working, and turned north on Ave. Q.

Investigators report while turning, another vehicle in the road swerved to avoid colliding with Zamarripa's vehicle. The suspect in the passenger seat of the other car yelled at Zamarripa and fired at her vehicle, according to police.

Investigators say the shot went through the driver-side door, striking Zamarripa, then the suspects drove off. Zamarripa was taken to UMC with serious injuries.

Police describe the driver of the suspect vehicle as a Hispanic male and the passenger in the suspect vehicle as a Hispanic female.

Anyone with information on the vehicle or the suspect is urged to call Crime Line at (806) 741-1000. Those with information may be eligible for a $1,000 reward. Crime Line callers can remain anonymous.
