Angelo State University president reportedly steps down

SAN ANGELO, Texas -

Angelo State University President Brian J. May tendered his resignation Friday, April 10, according to the Texas Tech University System

May served as the president since Nov. 7, 2012. The university reports, Angie Wright, vice president for finance and administration, will serve as the interim president, effective immediately. 

"We couldn’t ask for a finer or more devoted leader to help us during this transition," Chairman Christopher Huckabee said in a statement released to the Angelo State community. "Angie has been a member of the Angelo State community and Ram family for nearly four decades."

Chancellor Dr. Tedd Mitchell and the Board of Regents will announce a May's replacement at a later date. University leaders have not specified why May stepped down.
