Covenant Health asks community to 'color crosses for caregivers'

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Covenant Health Foundation is asking the community to color crosses for caregivers this Easter.

Public Information Officer for Covenant Health Meredith Cunningham said the Crosses for Caregivers response has been great so far and the community efforts don't go unnoticed.

"Times have been hard and I can only imagine how hard it's been for them. So I think anything the community has done, whether it's sweet messages that have been left on our Facebook pages, coloring crosses, the food that's been brought, I think it's just those little details to let them know they're appreciated and their community is proud of them," she said.

Covenant Health has served more than 100 years as the only faith-based clinically integrated health network in the West Texas region.

You can post finished works of art in the windows of homes, cars, or office buildings and share to social media using #crossesforcaregivers

"This is a chance for the community to show off their works of art while celebrating Easter, and supporting our frontline caregivers," Covenant Health Foundation President Steve Crisman said. "Our caregivers work every day to be the embodiment of Christ. Their work during this crisis is a perfect example of healing the sick, and caring for the poor, just like Christ did."
