TTUHSC accepting donations to aid COVID-19 shortages

LUBBOCK, Texas -

News release from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center:

To aid in shortages caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) is accepting donations of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), food and other supplies to be distributed among the Lubbock medical community.

PPE items needed include surgical and N95masks, disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer, face shields, goggles and eye shields, surgical gowns, CAPR/PAPR machines and disposables, flocked swabs and thermometers. DIY face masks are accepted if they follow the instructions listed - here.

TTUHSC Helping Hands Food Pantry is accepting unexpired food donations for students, faculty and staffing need. Acceptable donations include canned fruits and vegetables, canned or dry beans, peanut butter, canned tuna and chicken, applesauce, oatmeal, cereals, granola bars and nutrition bars, PopTarts, crackers, pasta, rice and pasta sauce.

Donations to support frontline care workers include catered meals (donated or voluntarydiscounts onpurchased meals),colored pencils/crayons, snacks, water and juice, markers, sticky notes, stress balls and facial tissue.

Donations will be acceptedthrough appointment only Monday-Friday,at the TTUHSC donation site on 8th Street near the UMC Health System Emergency Center. During business hours, contact Megan McCroryat megan.mccrory@ttuhsc.eduor (806) 252-6821to schedule an appointment. Appointments can be scheduled for after business hoursif necessary.
