Temperatures are starting like yesterday morning, but the rest of today will be cooler. High nearing 70 and mostly cloudy. A chance for some showers developing late morning-early afternoon hours, then an isolated storm or two possible during the later afternoon hours. Overall, our southern counties will have the better chance for light rain totals.
TONIGHT: Rain chances diminish this evening with cloud cover breaking apart some. A secondary rush of cooler air moves through and drops the lows to the 40s.
FRIDAY: High near 64, becoming cloudy again with some showers to our western counties and eastern New Mexico. Then possible storms moving from the west late Friday into early Saturday morning for parts of our area.
WEEKEND: The rain ends early with cloud cover clearing east Saturday. Temperatures warm some with highs returning to the 70s. Wind speeds start to increase Saturday with stronger wind speeds Easter Sunday ahead of a cold front.
NEXT WEEK: If you have started planting Spring garden, you will need to cover it up over the weekend. This front drops our morning temperatures to near freezing starting Monday through Wednesday. Highs only expected to be in the 40s and low 50s Monday. Late Monday into early Tuesday an upper level disturbance may bring some light precipitation in our area and with freezing temperatures we may have some snow and wintry mix. This wont last long, but what a difference from the last few days!
Have a great Thursday! Matt with the next updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
