Wednesday: Lubbock has 214 COVID-19 cases, 47 recoveries, seven deaths

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The City of Lubbock health department reported 23 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases among the county's residents Wednesday, bringing the total to 214. One additional death was reported, with seven total deaths in Lubbock County.

Of the people who were tested and received a positive, 47 are now listed as recovered.

The city is experiencing an increase in community spread. Public Health Director Katherine Wells expected the trend, resulting in the health department unable to identify someone close to the person or within their social network that has COVID-19.

Nursing home - 186 (86.9%)
Investigation pending - 19 (8.8 %)
Community spread - 48 (22.4%)
Exposed a known COVID-19 case - 26 (13.6%)
International travel - 9 (4.2%)
Domestic travel - 6 (3.1)%

10 to 19 years old - eight cases
20 to 29 years old - 36 cases
30 to 39 years old - 33 cases
40 to 49 years old - 32 cases
50 to 59 years old - 30 cases
60 to 69 years old - 24 cases
70 to 79 years old - 26 cases
80 to 89 years old - 19 cases
90 or older - six cases
