Area non-profits awarded grants from South Plains COVID-19 Response Fund

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Community Foundation of West Texas is awarding $497,159 to 19 local non-profits in our area.

It's part of the South Plains COVID-19 Response Fund created by the CFWT and the Lubbock Area United Way to provide flexible resources to non-profits working with local communities that are disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 and the economic consequences of the outbreak.

The grants will be used to meet needs for rent and utility assistance, childcare, food assistance, medical needs and mental health needs.

This is the first round of grants to be awarded. There will be a second round of funding.
