Look Around Lubbock: Virtual First Friday Art Trail

Posted: Updated:

The Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts and Texas Tech Public Media have partnered up to present a virtual First Friday Art Trail tonight starting at 6:00 p.m. On Facebook, you can watch virtual tours of studios on the trail and meet some of the artists.

Two of the new exhibits at LHUCA that will be featured on the video are 'Town and Country' and 'From Texas, About Texas' that feature paintings from traditional landscapes to fiver and crocheted pieces.

The Executive Director of LHUCA said this will be a different experience. You may lose some of the aspects you may see in person, but you can still recognize the art and even pause the screen if you'd like. She said this event is a staple and needed to continue despite the circumstances.

"Continuing that tradition even when we're closed is really important just for us to show as a community that we do support the local artists and we do support all of our arts venues in town," LHUCA Executive Director Lindsey Maestri said.
