LUBBOCK, Texas -

Nine additional COVID-19 cases were confirmed among Lubbock residents Thursday, bringing the case total to 117 with three deaths.

The City of Lubbock Health Department lists of the people who were tested and received a positive, 12 have recovered and completed quarantine.

Health officials are currently investigating a positive case identified at the Garrison Geriatric Education and Care center, but it's believed to be from a recently-transferred resident and not the facility itself.

A child also potentially exposed to the virus at Stepping Stones Nursery and Preschool tested negative. A letter was sent to parents Thursday notifying them of the test.
