Look Around Lubbock: yoga at home

Posted: Updated:

Yoga is a popular way to work on strength, flexibility, and mind-body awareness. The Yoga Stand is making it easy to continue your practice at home.

"You think you're doing yoga, yet yoga has its way with you," The Yoga Stand owner Haley Bevers said.

Bevers said yoga is more than just physical exercise.

"It can be a medicine, a calming thing for the mental body, it can elevate your levels of prana or life force that help with immunity, help with strength, help with your life path," Bevers said.

She encourages you to use this time at home wisely and lead in a new way.

"If we come together cohesively and collectively to raise the vibration, we can shift," Bevers said.

In order to become stronger emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually Bevers said yoga is a solution.

"I see ourselves as first responders. You need to do your yoga practice. This is not a time to abandon your yoga practice," Bevers said.

If you're worried about flexibility, she said don't.

"Stability is primary, flexibility is secondary. It's the process, not the pose," Bevers said.

No matter if you're a pro or never done it before, you can do it.

"Yoga allows you to meet you where you are no matter if you're broken, or perfect or whatever is going on... a health issue," Bevers said.
