A stream of sweat on my forehead yesterday afternoon on my walk. We made it to 89° in Lubbock just 1° shy of tying the record.
TODAY: Even hotter with the high near 93, the record is 88. Mostly sunny with a stream of high clouds over the area. Wind speeds will increase for a breezy day from the west-southwest 15-25mph.
TONIGHT: Another mild one with the low near 54, partly cloudy with wind dropping to 5-15mph.
FRIDAY: We end the week with strong wind from the southwest 20-35mph with gust 40-45mph likely. Temperatures drop to the upper 70s and 80s, then a cold front move through during the evening hours.
THIS WEEKEND: Temperatures will drop to the 60s and 70s which is near average for this time of year. Sunny sky Saturday, then high clouds quickly increase covering our area Sunday. The breezy to windy conditions will stick around.
NEXT WEEK: Our next upper level system may bring a chance for storms in our eastern counties to start next week. It will also keep wind speeds strong before dropping by midweek. Highs look to stay in the 60s and 70s range which is perfect!
Have a great Thursday! Stay hydrated and wear sunscreen if you plan on being outdoors for a bit. Matt with the next updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
