Look Around Lubbock: at-home workouts

You may be feeling discouraged on your fitness journey if your go-to gym is closed, but that doesn't have to be the case. TRUFIT Head Coaches Austin Sullivan and Ervin Howard said we can utilize the space we have to maximize our fitness. They gave us a glimpse of a full body workout you can do at home to still stay active.

Warm up:

  • Jumping Jacks- 45 seconds
  • Air Squats- 45 seconds
  • Windmill Stretches- 5 on each side

Arms:

  • Push-ups (modifications: knees or using a chair or bench)- 3 sets of 10
  • Dips on a bench or chair (modifications: bent or straight knees)- 3 sets of 10
    • can add weight by having your child sit on your lap or even a case of water

Legs:

  • Box Jumps- 3 sets of 10
  • Isolated Lunges- 3 sets of 10 on each leg
  • Jump Squats- 3 sets of 10

Abs:

  • Bear Crawl (modification: 90-90 plank)- 3 sets of 10 forwards & 10 backwards

Now you're finished and Sullivan said spread some fitness inspiration to others. 

"If we can get beneficial infectious thing out of there, how bout people moving again, people getting active again," Sullivan said.
