Hockley County reports two new cases of COVID-19

HOCKLEY COUNTY, Texas -

The Levelland & Hockley County News-Press reports Hockley County has confirmed two new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, bringing its total case count to five.

The announcement comes a week after the first case was confirmed on Tuesday, March 17.

Hockley County Judge Sharla Baldridge said the two new cases were not residents of Levelland.

The fourth confirmed case is a 31-year-old resident of Sundown, but has not been confirmed it is travel-related. The individual tested in Lubbock and listed a Lubbock address. During the investigation it was found the individual lives in Sundown. 

The fifth case is a 31-year-old resident of Ropesville. Baldridge said this case is not travel related and is under investigation. The individual was tested in Lubbock at a drive-thru clinic on March 22.
