LUBBOCK -

Because of rain in the forecast, UMC's drive-up COVID-19 screening will close at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21. The screening area is the far south end of the UMC campus, near the Texas Tech softball field.

Hours Sunday, March 22 will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., to allow staff to spend the morning with their families.

The regular hours of this drive-up clinic will resume Monday, March 23; these hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Only people who meet the screening criteria as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control will be tested. All others will be turned away.

Also, UMC will follow CDC guidelines, as many other health systems are, canceling all elective procedures. UMC will reassess this in two weeks. Check with your doctor for specifics on your health care planning.

Also, UMC staff recommend patients use Virtual Visits through the MyTeamCareNow app, rather than go to a clinic in-person.

All visitors to UMC will have their temperature taken at entry to the hospital. As needed, they will be referred to the drive-up screening. UMC has a limit of two visitors per patient. For isolation patients it is a limit of one person per day. No visitors under age 17 will be allowed.
