Boys & Girls Club of Lubbock temporarily closing

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

From the Boys & Girls Club of Lubbock:

During this time of uncertainty the main concern for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lubbock is the health and safety of the children that we serve every day at our Clubs and our staff and volunteers. We want to make sure that our children and their families are taken care of during this time of crisis and their basic needs are met.

The Boys & Girls Club of Lubbock will continue to follow our local, state and federal health agency guidelines as well as Lubbock ISD, Frenship ISD and Shallowater ISD on school closures. As you know the Governor has extended school closings until April 3rd. The Board of Directors has decided to close all Clubs beginning next Monday, March 23rd for members and to re-open presumptively on Monday, April 6th pending further board action. During that time we will continue to deep clean, stock up on sanitation supplies as they become available and continue to take additional precautions to ensure that all kids, staff and volunteers are safe when the Clubs reopen.

In the meantime, we are advising all our Club staff, families, and youth to continue to take precautions as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

If community members have additional questions, please contact the Administrative Office at 806-792-2880.
