LUBBOCK, Texas -

Local barbeque Evie Mae's is taking steps to protect workers and customers from the spread of coronavirus.

The restaurant used its food trailer to set up an express line Thursday to allow for drive-thru services.

The restaurant is also working on an online ordering system to accept pre-orders. The dining room is still open for customers who would like to go inside, but owner Arnis Robbins says the restaurant is prepared to continue on a drive-thru only basis.

"We've got some contingency plans now if we do have to shut down the dinning room. We'll do curbside we can actually make a secondary drive-through through our pit room which has overhead doors on both sides and plenty of room. We've got ideas," Robbins said.

Robbins added the restaurant will do what is needed to keep all of its employees working while continuing to serve the community.
