Mild again today, but a weak front will leave us with a range in highs. Warming to near 80 in our southern counties, Lubbock and north will be in the lower to mid 70s. Cloud cover increasing through the afternoon, but we stay dry.
TONIGHT: Low near 52, cloud cover might break up some but increases by the morning hours.
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy with the high near 79, westerly wind picks up 10-18mph.
HERE COME THE RAIN: A upper level low still off the coast of California will slowly move towards us in the last days of this week. This will bring Pacific moisture across our region and a cold front perfectly timed late Thursday will lift this moisture. A good set up for wide spread rain with showers through early Friday, then some storms late Friday into early Saturday. Rain totals up to half an inch will be common with some locations around an inch. Temperatures drop Friday with highs in the 40s and 50s likely. Still some uncertainty with models on how chilly it will get, but we stay above freezing.
WEEKEND: A small break from the rain with highs back in the 60s and 70s Saturday. Then another upper level low follows behind this one bring the rain back Sunday and for the start of next week.
Have a great Wednesday! Matt with the next updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
