Full-scale emergency training exercise tomorrow at Lubbock Airpo - FOX34 Lubbock

Full-scale emergency training exercise Wednesday at Lubbock Airport

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

Multiple Lubbock agencies will test their emergency response Wednesday during training at the Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport.

The drill will be a simulated plane crash. Live fire training will take place, so smoke will be visible from the training site near the airport.

The exercise starts at 7 a.m. and is expected to last about six hours.

The airport will remain open during the exercise and no impact is expected on arriving or departing flights.

The exercise will ensure that local first responders, assisting agencies and other departments are prepared to handle any major emergencies that could occur at the airport.
