Lady Raiders Pick up First Win in Norman in Fifteen Years

NORMAN, Okla. – The Texas Tech Lady Raider basketball team finished up its regular season on Saturday afternoon with its first win over Oklahoma in Norman in 15 years. The Lady Raiders defeated Oklahoma, 106-94, at the Lloyd Noble Center.
 
Tech's 106 points was the team's second 100-plus-point performance in Big 12 play this season, marking the first time in 26 years the Lady Raiders have notched multiple 100-point games in the same conference season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Texas Tech was led by a career-high-tying 29 points from junior Andrayah Adams. Sophomore Chrislyn Carr added her third double-double with 23 points, 11 assists and five steals. Brittany Brewer tallied her 15th double-double of the season with 18 points and 12 rebounds along with four blocks. Lexi Gordon also recorded her third 20-plus point game with 22.
 
The Lady Raiders led from wire to wire, opening with a quick, 6-0 run. Tech got 10 points from Brittany Brewer in the opening frame, and after shooting 61.9 percent from the floor in the period, led 30-24 after the first 10 minutes.
 
Another big quarter from the Lady Raiders put the team up, 59-38, at halftime. Adams added 12 points in the quarter and the team held Oklahoma to 28.6 percent from  the floor.
 
Oklahoma held its ground offensively in the third and fourth quarters, but it wouldn't be enough as Tech held on for the win. Carr had 13 points in the third quarter to keep the Sooners at arm's length, and the Lady Raiders were able to keep Oklahoma at bay in the final frame.
