DanceTech 2020 will focus on the site-specific work by Faculty and guest artists.  We will explore and present work in non-proscenium environments in order to discover, engage and present unexpected story telling opportunities.  The consideration of unique environments will feed the choreography and alter audience perspective on both space and the experience of dance.

Winners of the High School 150-Mile Radius Art Competition will be announced at that time, and light refreshments will be served.

6 – 9pm: Exhibition Hours

Texas Tech University School of Art will be hosting the 2nd Annual Regional High School Art Competition and Exhibition. The exhibition showcases the talent of high school art students within a 150-mile radius of Lubbock. Our renowned 2D and 3D School of Art faculty will jury the submitted artworks. Prizes will be awarded.

Landmark Arts exhibitions and speaker programs in the Texas Tech University School of Art are made possible in part with a generous grant from the Helen Jones Foundation of Lubbock. Additional support comes from Cultural Activities Fees administered by the J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts.



First Friday Art Trail

Join us for March’s First Friday Art Trail. The event will feature 16 venues with various artists along with performances and food trucks. This is a COMMUNITY NIGHT event with special additions included in the show.  Among the festivities is a silent auction set up to give concertgoers an opportunity to bid of some wonderful items before the show begins…and s special live auction of some high-profile items during intermission!
