Mar 4-5th
The LPD is conducting a two day neighborhood deployment near the Briercroft Neighborhood at Ave Q and 57th St. The LPD Mobile Operations trailer will be onsite from 8am through 4pm. Citizens living or working in area are invited to meet with officers, investigators and members of the Community Engagement Unit about any concerns they have or to meet the officers who work in their area.

Mar 5th
Godeke Library will host a Senior Activity event. Ages 50+ are invited to join in a fun game of balloon volleyball from 10am – 11am 5034 Frankford.

District 3 and 4 City Council members Jeff Griffith and Steve Massengale will host a joint town hall meeting today at Monterey High School cafeteria beginning at 6:00pm. All residents are invited to attend. 3211 47th St.

Our Lady of Grace Guadalupanas will be selling enchilada or chalupa plates for $8. Plate includes rice, beans and a drink. 11-2pm 3111 Erskine St.

Hospice of Lubbock Annual Mayor’s Beans and Cornbread luncheon will be at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center 1501 Mac Davis Lane from 11am – 1:30pm. Tickets are $10. Texas Tech University is hosting a Surplus Equipment Auction on Saturday at 10:00am at 4611 Erskine St. (Furniture, Vehicles, Bicycles, etc.) Open to all.

FootTech’s Salsa Showdown will be from 11am -1pm with proceeds benefiting Artie’s fight against cancer. Entry is $5 plus 24 oz jar of your best salsa. (Sign ups are due today Thurs Mar 5th) Those wanting to taste the entries will make a donation of any amount and will get to vote for your favorite salsa. (Best Tasting, Most Creative, and Tongue Burner) Each winner will receive a $20 FootTech gift card and bragging rights.

The Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society at Texas Tech University, along with KCBD News Channel 11, the National Weather Service, and the Science Spectrum, will be hosting Lubbock’s 14th annual Severe Weather Awareness Day on Saturday, March 7th, from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the Science Spectrum & OMNI Theater.

GS Troop 6073 invites all scouts to join them for Scout Sunday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church at 11am mass. Scouts are encouraged to come in their uniforms.

Books & Ballet Snow White is a fun Snow White themed story hour! Follow the princess on her adventures, learn a few new moves and meet the dancers. Mahon Library 1306 9th St. from 3:00 -4:00pm Free and open to the public.

Hispanic Association of Women Monthly meeting begins at 5:30pm at the City Bank locations on 5219 City Bank Pkwy.

The first Museum by Night of 2020 is coming March 12 with Bingo! Play bingo, win prizes, enjoy free food and refreshments, and explore the Museum. This is a free event and will run from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Museum of Texas Tech University 4th & Indiana.
