LUBBOCK -

In the Republican primary for the 140th District Court judge there will be a runoff between Douglas Freitag and Tom Brummett.

Brummett is a prosecutor.

"From the very beginning my strategy was to not change a message depending on who the audience was, but just to be who I was," Brummett said Tuesday night. "Tell it from the heart and just let this chips fall how they might."

Freitag stresses the importance of adhering to judicial code.

"It's not about pleasing people," Freitag said Tuesday night. "It's about doing the right thing for the right reasons under the law."
