Kara Darnell and Phillip Hays are headed to a runoff in the Republican primary for the 99th Judicial District.
Hays has more than 30 years experience practicing law.
"Consider the experience and the integrity of the judges that are running...or the candidates that are running for this judgeship," Hays said Tuesday night. "We will continue in the runoff to try to express our message and get the voters encouraged to look at the issues, look at the candidates and make a choice."
Darnell stressed her range of experience.
"With my family law background, my civil litigation background, plus my judicial experience, I have all the bases of this court covered," Darnell said Tuesday night. "And I have it covered a whole lot better than my opponent at this point."
For anyone who is not yet registered to vote and would like to do so in the primary runoffs, the last day to register is April 27. Early voting for the primary runoff runs from May 18 to May 22. The primary runoff election day is Tuesday, May 26.
