Chilly day with rain coming to an end, milder next several days

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

We had some good rain across the lower half of our area with little to no precipitation north of Lubbock county. Current radar below:
South Plains Radar

TODAY: The upper level low bringing this rain will slowly push east clearing out this precipitation through the afternoon. Expect on and off rain through the rest of the morning, then cloudy this afternoon. Temperatures barely moving with highs in the upper 40s and low 50s, it will feel colder for the first half of the day as the wind is breezy from the northeast.
Current Wind

TONIGHT: Becoming clear as cloud cover moves east of our area. A cold night with lows near freezing with a light wind changing to the west.

REST OF THE WEEK: Lots of sunshine Thursday with some high clouds moving in Friday. Temperatures quickly warm to the upper 60s as a weak front pushes in tomorrow. This will bring the breezy northeast wind through the day. Highs only dropping to the lower 60s Friday.

EXTENDED: This weekend our next upper level system brings a gusty wind, then a chance for rain Sunday into the early morning hours of Monday. This does look like a good coverage of light rain for our area. Sunshine and milder into next week with highs in the 70s.

Have a great Wednesday! Matt with the next updated forecast tonight on the News at Nine.
