THIS AFTERNOON: Showers have occasionally made it up to Lubbock. They've been more persistent farther south and southwest, with Lamesa about 1/10" of rain by 3 p.m. It's warmer to the northeast of Lubbock, where there's been more sun. Here is FOX34 VIPIR:
Individual showers are spreading to the northeast.
TONIGHT: Rain will continue off-and-on, possibly with a few rumbles of thunder. The rain will be more continuous from Hobbs to Lamesa to Snyder, where 1" rain totals will be common. Lubbock will probably wind up being the northern edge of the rain, with much less expected over the northern South Plains into the Panhandle.
It'll stay cloudy and will also become breezy, wind NE 12-22mph. Low near 39.
TOMORROW: Rain likely early in the day, ending through the afternoon. Cloudy and cool, high near 50. Wind NE/N 12-22mph.
NEXT FEW DAYS: It'll clear out and warm up Thursday, high 67, sunny. We expect more wind for the weekend with a chance for rain Sunday. Early next week it should climb up into the 70s with a lot of sun.
I'll have an updated look at the rain timing, and our news team will have election results, tonight on FOX34 News at Nine. And Bobby will have an update to the forecast here early tomorrow.
