Cloudy morning with some light showers to our southern counties. Current radar below:
TODAY: Take a umbrella with you as we will have the chance for on and off showers through the afternoon. Not everyone will get rain with the better chances from Lubbock to our southern counties. High near 59, light northeast wind 5-15mph.
TONIGHT: Better coverage of rain expected with some heavy down pours possible. Some lightning in the stronger cells possible, but no severe weather expected. Low near 39, the northeast wind kicks up 12-22mph.
WEDNESDAY: The better chances for more rain continue until about lunchtime, then diminishes through the afternoon. There is potential for 1"-2" of rain in our southern counties, with amounts nearing half an inch for Lubbock. Amounts quickly drop for our northern counties if any at all. Temperatures will be the coolest of the week with the high near 50, the wind on the gusty side 12-22mph will make it feel colder.
REST OF THE WEEK: This system clears east taking the clouds and precipitation with it. Temperatures quickly warm to the upper 60s Thursday, ahead a weak front to drop our highs to the lower 60s Friday.
WEEKEND: Out next upper level system move in our region increasing wind speeds and another shot for rain Sunday. Rain chances won't last too long with sunshine to start next week.
