It's going to turn cooler and cloudy next few days, likely with some rain. An upper-level storm system is over the Baja and headed this way. It'll bring fairly widespread rain across Texas.
TONIGHT: Becoming cloudy, low near 43.
TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy, high near 56. Wind SE/NE 5-15mph. Some rain is possible in the morning to the south and southwest of Lubbock, including Carlsbad, Hobbs and Midland. Showers will lift north through the day, but also will fade farther north they make it. We'll probably get some rain by the afternoon around Lubbock. More showers are expected into the evening.
A few thunderstorms are even possible, along with moderate to heavy downpours. With all the humidity in place it'll only drop to around 40 Wednesday morning.
WEDNESDAY: Showers and a few storms will continue Tuesday night into Wednesday. Again the most widespread coverage will be to the south of Lubbock. Eventually showers will fade, but clouds will dominate much of the day.
There will be a pretty good range on rain totals, less north, more south. In fact, 1" rain totals will be possible from Hobbs to Snyder and points south. Around Lubbock it's more likely we're looking at 1/4" to 1/2", with less to the north. But if we get one of those heavier downpours into the city, it could push the total above an inch.
DRYING OUT: More sun is expected rest of the week with the high in the 60s. There is a slight chance for rain Sunday.
Have a great rest of your day. Bobby will have a full update to the forecast here early tomorrow.
