The Red Raiders' six game win streak against Texas was snapped this afternoon at the USA. Shaka Smart's club is fighting hard for a spot in the big dance, and they are beginning to make a strong case that they belong.
Texas Tech led Texas 37-30 at the end of the first half, but the Longhorns outscored the Red Raiders 38-21 in the second.
"Texas was the more aggressive team," Texas Tech head basketball coach Chris Beard said. "In the second half, they set the tone early offensively."
Jahmi'us Ramsey led all Red Raiders in scoring with 13 points to go with six assists. Freshman Kevin McCullar tallied 12.
Tech has a short turnaround, Beard's crew will travel to Waco to take on Baylor at 8 o'clock Monday night on ESPN.
