Lubbock doctor accused of violating parole

Williams Williams

Federal prosecutors request a doctor in our area with a recorded history of abusing painkillers go to prison for relapsing and violating her parole.

Dr. Brianne Williams pleaded guilty to forging a colleague's prescription papers to get powerful drugs in 2018. She confessed to illegally acquiring dilaudid, a hospital-strength morphine derivative.

Williams' abuse of abuse stretches back to 2011, according to court records, when she self-reported abusing hydrocodone, dilaudid, demeral and fentanyl. At the time, fentanyl was only available to medical professionals. All of these are very powerful narcotics.

Williams was placed on probation in May 2019 and underwent recovery treatment.

Court filings from the U.S. Attorney's Office show she violated the terms of her probation by repeatedly using opioids, heroin and cocaine.

She faces up to four years in prison for the violation and will be on one-year supervised release after that.
