LUBBOCK, Texas -

Lubbock High students enlisted in the military were sworn in Wednesday by the NASA Commander.

The swearing-in ceremony was hosted at Lubbock High with NASA Astronaut and U.S. Army Colonel Andrew Morgan broadcasting live. He's one of three astronauts currently serving as an active-duty Army officer. He was selected to join NASA in 2013.

This was the first-ever, nationwide live oath enlistment ceremony from the International Space Station.

"It was a great especially with someone up in space giving us the oath of enlistment. It was an honor and I greatly appreciate it and I'm so ready to serve this country," Lubbock High student and Marine Corps recruit Caleb Berry said.

More than 800 future soldiers were sworn in across the country.
