Murder parolee back in jail, indicted for violating parole

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Grand jurors indicted a murderer for breaking his parole and trying to hide drugs.

The Texas Anti-Gang Unit stopped Miner Thompson on Feb. 6 for a traffic violation. He reportedly self-identified as a member of the 'Bloods' gang and refused a search.

When deputies ran his ID, it came back with a parole violation for a murder conviction. He told deputies he's just gotten out of prison after 21 years.

When deputies tried to get him out of the car, he refused and fought with them briefly. Deputies say he tried to kick a baggie of cocaine out of sight.

If convicted for breaking his parole, Thompson will be taken back to finish out his original sentence for murder.
