We have a FOX34 Follow-up on a suspect law officers shot Saturday after, investigators say, he pointed a gun at a SWAT team.

The DPS reports Samuel Garcia Garzez, 61, is a felon and is a Mexican Mafia gang member. He remains in critical condition.

According to the DPS, Lubbock County SWAT and members of the Texas DPS Criminal Investigations Division tried to serve a search warrant at a home in the 800 block of Avenue C in Levelland Saturday morning.

Investigators say Garzez was the only person in the home. As SWAT entered the home, the DPS reports Garzez pointed a weapon at one of the SWAT team members. This is when a member of the team shot Garzez. He was taken to a hospital in Levelland and has since been transferred to Lubbock.

No law officer was hurt.

Investigators have not yet released what charges Garzez will face or the reason for the warrant being served.

The Texas Rangers are investigating the shooting, which is standard protocol.
