Lubbock Police made an arrest in Friday’s robbery of the City Bank branch near Texas Tech.

Police arrested Matthew Courtney, 48, Monday evening, a few hours after obtaining an arrest warrant.

Police were called mid-day Friday to the branch at University Avenue and Glenna Goodacre Blvd.

The clerk told police Courtney went to the check stand and wrote a note demanding money, then passed her the note and verbally demanded the money. Police say she complied and handed him the money.

Courtney then ran out of the bank with the money to a white, four-door car that was waiting in the parking lot, according to a police report. Investigators discovered a fingerprint belonging to Courtney on the bank note handed to the City Bank teller during the robbery.

No one was hurt.

Courtney's held on a $100,000 bond.
