LUBBOCK, Texas -

Lubbock Habitat for Humanity announced Tuesday it will host its first blitz build in more than a decade.

It's part of a partnership with Blitz Home builders to help Habitat move forward with its building plans.

The Lubbock affiliate currently builds four to six houses a year. The blitz build will kick off Labor Day weekend in September.

Blitz Home Builders have traveled across the U.S. for more than 20 years, with builders looking forward to being in West Texas.

"We are so excited, the people, the staff here, the volunteers we've already talked to are so encouraging. They're so dedicated to what they're doing here to helping out your community," Steve Cook, with Blitz Home Builders, said. "We just want to partner with them and help things move ahead. And of course we're looking forward to the warmth in Lubbock."

The non-profit has helped build 75 homes across the nation.
