LUBBOCK, Texas -

Lubbock-Cooper administrative duties were taken over by a 5th grader.

Lubbock-Cooper South student Mack Hall got to be Superintendent for the Day and see how the school board makes decisions.

Sponsored by Lubbock Land Company, it was a chance for Hall to take on a leadership role and experience the hard work it takes to be an administrator.

Of course he wasn't just selected for the job, he had to apply.

Hall attended two meetings and got to take a tour of Lubbock-Cooper's new middle school campus.

"I really wanted to be the superintendent because I wanted to see how the school was ran and how the board sort of acts on things, like trying to make the building or just the way they like to design it," Hall said.

He said he's not sure what he wants to do in the future just yet, but emphasized he was just excited for the opportunity.
