LUBBOCK, Texas -

A man has pleaded guilty to the shooting and killing of 20-year-old Isaias Rodriguez in 2017.

Daniel Rangel was sentenced to 20 years Thursday morning.

Investigators say Daniel Rangel got into a fight with Rodriguez and at least three other men in an alley near North Akron and Amherst. Rangel then pulled a gun and shot Rodriguez in the chest.

A search warrant at Rangel's home turned up a .40 caliber pistol, ammo and one spent shell casing.

Rangel is already serving 20 years for an aggravated assault. The murder sentence will run concurrent with his current sentence.

Rangel must serve at least 10 years of the murder sentence before he's eligible for parole.
