Man pleads guilty to 2017 murder of Gabriel Salazar

LUBBOCK, Texas -

A man charged with the murder of a man found dead in a motel parking lot in January 2017 has pleaded guilty. 

Raynaldo Enriquez, pleaded guilty to the shooting death of Gabriel Salazar, 32, Wednesday morning. 

Investigators found Salazar's body in the parking lot of the Carriage House Inn and Suites near the Slaton Highway and the Loop.  

Jake Johnson was charged with tampering with evidence. He pleaded guilty to that charge late last year. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, including time served the past two and a half years.

Geneva Leal, originally charged with tampering with evidence, is also charged with Salazar's murder. 

Police report Leal and Enriquez shot, stabbed and beat Salazar with a bat before Johnson found him. 

Enriquez was sentenced to 25 years in prison. He must serve half his sentenced before he's eligible for parole.
