Here - are updated school delays/cancellations for Wednesday
Here are current conditions:
THIS AFTERNOON: It's been a cold day, with the temperature holding in the lower 30s. The showers ended earlier this morning. The showers included rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow. Although amounts were light, there were a few slick spots on bridges. As mentioned the past few days, the main concern for travel this week will be Wednesday morning.
TONIGHT: Showers will move in late tonight through early Wednesday morning. Around Lubbock it'll probably be freezing rain with some sleet and then end with snow. Northwest of the city we'll likely see it mainly snow, with a cold rain or freezing rain southeast of Lubbock. Main window for showers is 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Amounts won't be too great. But when you're dealing with a combination of freezing rain, sleet and snow, and with the temperature dropping to around 27, it won't take much to create icy spots on the roadways. The bridges will likely be slick, but surface streets may also have some icy patches.
TOMORROW: Cloudy in the morning, some sun for the afternoon, high near 46. Wind W/N 10-22mph.
NEXT FEW DAYS: Still cool and sunny Thursday, 50s on Friday. Saturday and Sunday will return to the 60s. Weather looks great for Tech Baseball's opening weekend.
Have a great rest of your day. We'll have an updated outlook tonight on FOX34 News at Nine. Bobby will have new information tomorrow morning on Good Day Lubbock.
