UPDATED: Three Texas Tech students lose home after electrical fire

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Update:

Three Texas Tech students, including two sisters, have lost their central Lubbock home.

Flames and smoke overtook the home near 18th and Raleigh Thursday afternoon. No one was hurt in what Lubbock fire believes to be an electrical fire.

Sydney Suss and her sister had left just 10 minutes before the fire to go home in Austin for the weekend.

They lost clothes, food and textbooks, but Sydney says some friends are willing to help them out.

"I don't ... I don't really want to ask anything of anyone. I just, uh... would love it if everyone holds your family tight and prays and thanks life for what we have, because that's what really matters here," she said.

With no family in the area she said she and her sister will work to replace everything they've lost.

Lubbock Fire Rescue is responding to a house fire reported Thursday afternoon in central Lubbock.

Crews are working to extinguish the fire near 18th street and Raleigh Ave.

No injuries have been reported. LFR says nobody was home at the time. Three Tech students are said to live in the home. The department is looking for a dog that may have been in the home.

Avoid the area.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

    Warm again Sunday, but windy

Expect mostly cloudy skies overnight with low temperatures only in the mid 40s, which is a bit above average for this time of year. We're back in the upper 60s again Sunday, even 70s for some areas. With that comes more sunshine by the afternoon, perhaps
