School was out for the first winter storm of the year.
Tech students spent the day having some fun outside.
From snapping pics, making snowmen and maybe even a little snow day mischief.
Some students who are from further south, enjoyed the rare snow day.
"I sure don't like the cold, but I like that it's bringing out the inner child in me, to be honest, I get to have fun with friends, and I haven't gone and actually gone outside with my friends a lot lately, so I've been studying and doing homework, so it's fun," freshman Jason Higginbothom said.
"We're gonna have hot chocolate after this sometime, and watch a few movies before getting back to our homework," freshman Rhyse Joseph said.
Mae Simmons park also saw several families, using whatever they could find, for some sledding.
5-year-old Malia Sotelo her brother Marcus headed there on Wednesday afternoon to take advantage of the snowy day.
"Because, snow is so much fun," Sotelo said when asked why she likes the snow so much.
The fun will not be lasting too long most classes will be back in session on Thursday.
If there's anymore snow in the future, no complaints here.
"It only snows like 3 times a year here, so this is our third, hoping for a fourth, I'm down for more snow another cancelled day, maybe not, who knows?," Higginbothom said.
On Thursday, there are still some expected school delays.
